empty! #3

Today I have another post of empties for you. These are witness of my trash-hoarding, a phenomenon first (and only!) recorded in beauty bloggers. Those infected by this obsessive compulsive behaviour are prone to proudly show off empty containers. Well, I’m no different (plus, it is much more believeable to show empty containers, because one couldn’t have opened them and thrown out the stuff, right?).

empty1

Moroccan Oil Moisture Repair Shampoo – it was my first bottle, I admit that I only bought it because of the hype around the Moroccan Oil products, but I like it a lot. I have used a different shampoo for the last couple of months (I collected these pictures for 6 months – at least that’s when I published my last “empty” post), but I just recently repurchased this shampoo.

Original Source Mint & Tea Tree Shower Gel – I have a thing for the lemon/lime shower gel they have in their range, but I was bored by the smell after I used a third of this. Wouldn’t repurchase.

Dabur Amla Hair Oil – I lovelovelove hair oil. I buy mine directly in India. One bottle of this lasts me 3-4 month, because I don’t use it regularly, say 2-4 times a month. I didn’t like this one so much, coconut oil works better for me. Wouldn’t repurchase.

Kiehls Nashi Blossom & Pink Grapefruit “Skin-Softening Body Cleanser” (read: shower gel) – it was a gift and I loved using it, but hell that sh*t’s overpriced. Wouldn’t repurchase.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Luscious Long Conditioner – again, I fell victim to a hype and bought it in Germany when I was invited to the essence event in summer. I hate this product. It dries out my hair and makes it look all frizzy and dull. Wouldn’t repurchase or use even if given for free.

Eva Mosaic nail care topcoat – it’s a russian brand top coat that I received in a swap. That stuff is as good as the Glisten&Glow topcoat, which means A LOT. Should you come by some of this, stock up. Would definitely repurchase if possible.

Organix repairing awapuhi ginger shampoo – I loved the smell when I bought it, but after a while I got sick of it. Organix shampoos are generally good and I use them in between periods of Maroccan Oil shampoos. Would repurchase, but a different scent.

Rituals Fujiyama Mandarin & Mint Shower Foam – my absolute favorite shower products. I love pretty much all the Rituals shower foams and stock up on them whenever they’re on sale or I’m at the airport in Amsterdam (where they’re always a bit cheaper). Not only would I repurchase it, but I already have.

philosophy hot buttered rum shower gel/bath foam – I use the philosopy bath products irregularly because they’re rather difficult to get and a bit expensive, but when I use them I cherish the divine smell. Would repurchase (even though I have a massive collection that I need to use first).

Douglas hands and feet lotion* – I really like the smell of this lotion but my skin didn’t absorb it very well. I gave up after half a bottle (these are huge bottles!), but with one sad eye. Wouldn’t repurchase.

Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Scrub – I like Himalaya products and I find products with neem rather comfortable. As I use scrubs rather irregularly, this product lasted me roughly a year. I have a Walnut Scrub from Himalaya to use first, but then I’d consider repurchasing.

Clarins Eclat Minute lip balm* – I like the soft, pink look this lip balm gives my lips but I found that my lips chap less if I use eos lip balms. Also the applicator looks really yucky after a couple of weeks, so I wouldn’t repurchase it for the moment.

rainbow honey cuticle balm in Sakura Matsuki – I received this in a swap and I loved it! The stick is super handy and easy to bring along, plus the Sakura Matsuki smell is divine! I also find these cuticle balms to be fairly priced, so I’d definitely repurchase.

no idea why I photographed the Kiehls shower gel three times, but I still feel the same way about it as [see above].

Kiehl’s Nashi Blossom & Pink Grapefriut Skin-Softening Body Lotion – it’s a nice smelling and easily absorbed lotion, but again, the price for a regular lotion… too much for not being extraordinary. Wouldn’t repurchase.

Rituals Energy Harmony bath oil – that may be the only Rituals product I don’t like. Bath oils don’t feel nice to me, I prefer other bath products. Plus, you don’t get to play with foam, so the decision was easily made in favor of philosophy products. Wouldn’t repurchase.

Le petite Marseillais Pin & Criste marine Shower Gel – I love the variety of scents the Le petit Marseillais products offer. I have the feeling that I use more product for the same effect though, so I usually opt for Rituals bath foam. Luckily I bought three more of the Le petit Marseillais shower gels, so I can make that decision over and over and over again. Would repurchase.

MaroccanOil Oil Treatment – I have, out of avarice, used a different oil that I received for review. I shouldn’t have. For every day use (aka after washing my hair and blow drying it), this is it. Had to repent and have repurchased.

The body Shop Honeymania Body Butter * – As a fan of the bodybutters from The body shop, this one was no different – the sweet smell was exactly what I like in the winter month and the richness of the creme is great for dry-skinned people like me. Have repurchased (although in a different scent).

Balm du Jardinier Convent des Mimies Haute en provence (the gardener’s hand balm) – my favorite hand lotion, especially for overnight use. I love the fresh herbal smell and the mix of beurre de kariet and shea butter works wonders. Have repurchased.

Dove maximum protection deodorant* – I think it’s weird to show deodorants and make-up removers, but this deodorant is an exceptionally nice product. It’s a cream deodorant with little scent but keeps bad odors away and gives me a fresh feeling all day. Sounds like the advertising, I know, but I have bought 2 more bottles since this one was empty.

sally hansen complete salon manicure cuticle eraser + balm – a lovely clean smelling product that does exactly what it should. I am so convinced of this, I actually have 4 more stocked up, which is crazy because one pot lasts surely for one year.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Pro Serum – for me, this was a great day care lotion. I don’t like using anything on top of a serum, and this serum was rather sufficient by itself, so I didn’t have to use anything additional. I’m currently trying another moisturizer, so I can’t say if I’m going to repurchase in the future.

L’oreal Mythic Oil Souffle d’Or Sparkling Conditioner* – love the sparkly look of this conditioner, but I don’t like the results after a couple of weeks. My hair was more dry and felted than ever before. Wouldn’t repurchase.

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate – after getting used to putting oil on my face before I go to sleep (and regularly wiping it in my eyes, of course), I actually enjoyed this treatment. I have a small tester to use still, but I plan on  repurchasing this.

I received the products marked * for review, mostly from glossybox.at .

  1. I’m not a big fan of amla oil, either. Something about the scent, but coconut oil – I slather that on my head! Yogurt works great too! I absolutely LOVE Organix and the scent Moroccan Argan Oil! You would love that AND the hair masque in the same scent, as well!

    What a great read! :)

    • I agree about the scent of amla oil, I liked it at first, but then quickly it got uncomfortable.
Organix in Moroccan Argan Oil is what I usually buy from Organix, but I figured I could try a different scent for once, but I’ll go back to the Moroccan Argan Oil for sure.

  2. Finally someone who states that it’s taken them awhile to get these empty bottles! I’m always surprised at how many empties people have. I barely empty anything every month! Hahaha! Guess that means I have too much variety! Great post!
