I’m sorry, but I can’t hold back my excitement. I LOOOOOVE THIS COLOUR!!!! Really, I don’t know why exactly, especially since I’m not such a fan of green, but this? GorgeousAwesomeUniqueGreatPrettyWonderful!!! I call it pea green, but it’s called Kryptonite. I got it at a shop called Vero Moda; they have an Accessoires line called Pieces. Kryptonite is a jelly, but opaque in 2 coats, and it levels out amazingly. Drying time was surprisingly short also – what’s there not to love about it?

Ich finde diesen Lack so mega, ich kann’s gar nicht sagen. Nie im Leben würde ich was grünes anziehen, aber auf den Nägeln finde ich dieses Erbsenspeibgrün super. Der Lack ist von pieces (die accessoires bei Vero Moda sind alle von pieces), ich habe ihn bei Vero Moda auf der Mariahilferstrasse gefunden, und er hat 2,49€ gekostet. Mein Erbsenspeibgrün heisst Kryptonite und ist ein Jelly, aber deckt in 2 Schichten und trocknet ziemlich flott.

After some days of wearing the colour alone, I made tips with Orly Purple Pleather. I love the combination of a nice wet shine with matte tips – especially the “I accidently dipped my fingertips in another colour”-Look!

maaaaakes: Strawberry Fields (Forever)! I really love this polish from China Glaze; it is in my top 3 pink nailpolishes. It is pink, which you all know is my favourite nailpolish colour, and it has golden glassflecks/glitterparticles in it. Although it is often compared to Senorita Rose-alita from OPI, they both look totally different to me. I compared them so you could see the difference: Check it out here. Now, I think this polish is best worn with a white dress, on both toes and finger nails, while the person wearing it is jumping barefoot through green grass on a hillside – it’s called Strawberry Fields after all!

Beatles und China Glaze zusammen gemischt, und was kommt raus? Strawberry Fields (Forever)! Dieser Lack von China Glaze ist einer meiner Top3 rosa Lacke. Nicht nur ist er pink – was, wie wir alle wissen, meine LieblingsNagellackFarbe ist – sondern er hat auch goldene Glitzerpartikel im Lack! Auch wenn mein lieber Strawberry Fields Lack oft mit Senorita Rose-Alita von OPI (auch einer meiner Top 3 rosa Lacke) verglichen wird, finde ich sie doch ziemlich unterschiedlich. Meinen Vergleichspost seht ihr hier. Meines Erachtens gehört dieser Lack auf Zehen- und Fingernägel, dann muss ein weißes Kleid angezogen werden, und auf gehts, barfuß durch grüne Wiesen hüpfen – der Lack heisst ja schon Strawberry Fields

Remember when I bought Essie Big Spender and was so not impressed? Well, I really liked the colour of Swept off my Feet, because it is not brown, not red, not pink, not mauve – I really like what I call “inbetween” colours such as Swept off my feet. Anyhow,  last time Essies’ formula was not the best, rinning in my cuticles and all, so I had my hopes up for a better formula this time around. I have to say, this time it was much better, but I don’t know if that was because I expected the formula to be rinny and avoided coming close to my cuticles, or if it was actually a better formula. I still needed 3 coats for opacity, which is somehow disappointing because Swept of my feet is a darker creme, and usually with those kind of colours I don’t need more than 2 coats. On the plus side: the polish equals out perfectly. Which some other cremes don’t do (wait for my MAC review…!).  I’ll stop stalling now and show you the pics

Könnt ihr euch an meinen ersten Essie Nagellack erinnern? Der so ein *** war? Naja, nur Affen wie ich kaufen noch einen Nagellack von der Marke, die so ein schlechtes Ergebnis erzielt hat beim ersten Ausprobieren. Zu meiner Verteidigung: Ich fand die Farbe auf Swatches im Internet so schöööön. Ach, was soll’s, dachte ich dann, und klickte auf “Sofort kaufen”. Und bisschen später fand dann Essies’ Swept off my Feet bei mir ein neues Zuhause. So schlimm wie beim ersten Mal war das Lackieren dann glücklicherweise nicht und meine Nagelbetten mussten nicht holländische Dämme spielen; diesmal gab’s keine Überflutung. Kann aber ehrlich nicht sagen, ob das so ist, weil ich’s erwartet habe und besser lackiert habe, oder ob’s tatsächlich besser war. Jedenfalls hat das Endprodukt besser ausgesehen Die Farbe jedenfalls ist weder rot noch braun noch rosalila noch malve, sondern irgendso ein Zwischending. Ich mag so Zwischenfarben ganz gern – wäre ja fad, wenn jeder so daherkommt á la, hey, hübsches dijon-senf-gelb! Oh, ihr wollt bestimmt auch noch wissen, wie oft ich pinseln musste, damit die Nägel so aussehen? 3 mal. Zach. Denn bei den Nagellackschichten bin ich echt ein Fan von “Weniger ist mehr” – denn meine Ungeduld bei der Trockenzeit kennt keine Grenzen. Außerdem ist mein Superfastultraschnellgrossartigfetzigäußerstglänzendtoll Seche Vite aus – bis ich einen neuen bekomme trage ich nur mehr matte Lacke und Metallics. Die trocknen schneller, als die Polizei erlaubt!

Die Fotos sind nicht ganz exakt, was die Farbe betrifft. Der Lack ist eigentlich bisschen mehr rosalilamalvenfarben-stichig. Mein kleiner Finger am 2. Foto kommt dem am Nächsten… aber was soll’s, ich habe mir geschworen, Bildnachbearbeitung gibt’s nicht!

Well, another bottle of Nicole by OPI – instead of a green, this time I’ll show you a purplish-pink named Star of the Party. It is opaque in 2 coats, has a nice shine to it, but it isn’t special. I’m actually quite sure I have a dupe for that somewhere … it must be lying around somewhere… wait.. I’ll show you some other time.

Hmm, noch ein Nicole by OPI Lack – diesmal in violett-fast-rosa. Er heisst Star of the Party und ist deckend in 2 Schichten. Er schimmert hübsch, aber das war’s dann auch schon – ich bin mir sicher, dass ich irgendwo was Gleiches oder Ähnliches herumliegen habe…. zeig ich euch dann ein andermal, wenn ich erfolgreich gesucht habe!

For all of those who can’t party with me tonight, I have a small consolation: My birthday manicure. I received this polish from my friend Traci (check out her blog here) and I love it! I thought I was over glitter, but obviosly I’m not. I LOVE this polish It is called Sand and Stilettos, from Funky Fingers and I’m wearing 3 thin coats without any base colour. Check out the sparkle!!

Alle die, die heute nicht mit mir feiern können, bekommen einen “Trostpreis”: Bilder meiner Geburtstagsnägel vorab! Ich trage Sand and Stilettos von Funky Fingers, einen Lack, den ich von Traci bekommen habe (ihr Blog ist hier zu finden). Dieser Lack hat mich davon überzeugt, dass ich alles außer über Glitter hinweg bin! Sand and Stilettos ist GlitzerGlitzerGlitzer, silbern mit buntem “Holo”glitter, mega Ich trage 3 Schichten, aber nur Glitzer, kein farbiger Unterlack… aka der Lack deckt super gut, auch ohne “Unterlage”.

Today I want to show you a really nice pastell colour: Caress from the Illamasqua Pastel Nails Collection. On the website it is described as cornflower blue with a gloss finish – I don’t know about the cornflower blue, but it is baby blue for sure! Application was alright considering it is a pastel creme. It took 3 coats for me to reach opacity.

Heute möchte ich euch eine wirklich schöne Pastellfarbe zeigen: Caress aus der Pastel Nails Collection von Illamasqua. Auf der Website steht “Kornblumenblau mit Hochglanz-finish”; ich bin mir nicht ganz sicher, was das Kornblumenblau betrifft, ich hätte es eher baby blau genannt. Um Deckung zu erreichen, musste ich 3 Schichten auftragen – das ist ok für einen cremigen Pastelllack.

I have to say that this colour is not unique, but pretty. Illamasqua generally has very unique colours (just take a look at their Toxic Collection), but this one isn’t, which IMO doesn’t matter so much, because it is a very nice soft shade and the formula is good – it can happen with other pastels that one needs up to 6 coats to reach opacity. While Caress can’t offer me excitement, it can offer stability and security – it will always be a nice colour that can be worn throughout the year and will never be wrong.

Die Farbe ist zwar nicht einzigartig, aber sie ist hübsch – Illamasqua hat sonst ziemlich einzigartige Farben im Sortiment, zB in der Toxic Collection. Caress ist zwar nicht besonders oder sticht besonders heraus, dafür ist es eine Farbe, die man immer tragen kann, egal ob Winter oder Sommer. Wer gerne aufregende Farben auf den Nägeln hat wird mit Caress wohl nicht glücklich; wer lieber einmal investiert in eine Farbe, die gut pigmentiert ist und nicht alle Blicke auf sich zieht, sondern zu den meisten Anlässen passt, der ist bei Caress gut aufgehoben.

Do you know how it is when you see a polish in the bottle and you think, hey!, you were made for me? Well, this is it for me. You know how I’m a pink girl and not one for the purples, but this purple with the nice blueish undertone cought me in its net. It is called Dirty Berry, the brand is Catrice, and coats needed? 1. Yeah, you heard me right there!! 1! The colour reminds me of blueberry ice cream

Ja, manchmal passiert mir das, dass ich in ein Geschäft gehe (wie zB beim Müller auf der Mariahilferstr oder im Stadioncenter) und mit so einem Riesengrinser wieder rauskomme, dass sich die Leute fragen, was mit mir passiert ist. So auch, wie ich Dirty Berry von Catrice gefunden habe. Auch wen ich normal  für pinkpinkpink! bin, dieses Violett (weil Blaustich) hat’s mir total angetan. Ich finde, dass die Farbe fast aussieht wie Heidelbeereis – oder, dass Heidelbeereis so aussehen sollte! Jedenfalls: 2 thumbs up für Catrice Dirty Berry, denn auf den Fotos seht ihr auch nur 1 Schicht Lack

Another Wednesday, another great day of PINK! Today I even offer 2 pinks – can you believe it I’m showing you Alegra (left) and Anaka (right) from Zoya. As you can see in the bottle pic, they look similar, so I thought let’s see if they are the same.

Schon wieder Mittwoch, schon wieder PINK Tag! Heute bekommt ihr 2 zum Preis von 1 – Zoya Alegra (links) und Zoya Anaka (rechts). Im Fläschchen sehen sie sich sehr ähnlich, aber wie sieht das in Echt aus?

First, this is Alegra on its (her?) own. The colour is a very vibrant glassflecked pink, opaque in 3 coats.
Zuerst Alegra alleine – sehr lebendige Farbe mit glitzerschimmerzeugs, deckend in 3 Lagen.

And now Alegra on Index and Middle finger, Anaka on ring finger and pinkie. There is little difference, but there is: Anaka is more of a pearl nail polish tending more towards blueish pink, while Alegra is full of glassflecksparkleawesomeness. Obviously in my case I need to possess both, although even I can’t reasonably explain why, since they do look very similar. What’s your take on this?

Nun zum Vergleich: Alegra auf Zeige- und Mittelfinger, Anaka auf dem Ring- und kleinen Finger. Viel Unterschied ist nicht; Anaka ist mehr so auf der Perlenglanz Lack Seite mit Tendenz ins Blaue, Alegra hat dafür mehr Mikroglitzerpartikel… Ich brauche natürlich beide, aber ich kann niemandem logisch erklären, dass soviel Unterschied besteht, dass sich die Anschaffung beider Lacke lohnt respektive absolut nötig ist. Aber das bin eben ich
